All of the Lift-Off Film Festival’s are programmed initially by our founders and core-staff, after this each live event winner is selected by the attending audiences at each city, who are then put before our Selection Committee made up of Lift-Off ethos understanding film and TV professionals. The selection committee pick the winners who are to be awarded at our Lift-Off Season Awards Show at Pinewood Studios each December. Meet our Selection Committee…
Dominic Wolf | Producer/Actor | ||||
Dominic started in Film and TV Production, working freelance for indie production companies becoming an assistant producer and occasional AD whilst running the commissions gauntlet for broadcasters including the BBC and C4. Now a professional actor repped by Michelle Braidman Associates. One of his recent projects as an actor ‘Group B’ has been nominated for the Academy Awards 2015 in the student category. |
Jane Gull | Film Director and Lift-Off Alumni | ||||
Having started her career as an actress, Jane’s springboard into filmmaking came in 2005 when she made her first film Together Alone, supported by the UK Film Council. She has since gone on to direct several award winning shorts. The highly acclaimed Sunny Boy has screened at over 50 international film festivals and picked up 15 awards including, ‘Le Grand Prix du Jury’ at Entr’2 Marches in Cannes. In 2014 it was broadcast on Channel 4 and ARTE TV. Jane has recently completed her debut feature film My Feral Heart and has three features in development. |
Charlotte Hunter | Actor and Lift-Off Alumni | ||||
Charlotte was born and grew up in Suffolk. She started her career as the stunt and performance double of Emma Watson in HARRY POTTER before training as an actor at The Oxford School of Drama. Charlotte has played a variety of roles, including the central role of Jenny in the No1 theatre tour of THE HOLLY AND THE IVY. In the US feature film DUNGEONS & DRAGONS Charlotte played Carlotta but also developed and did the voice and motion capture for Slaymate, the undead child character. Charlotte is also known for her work in Emmerdale, Doctors, The Herd, Adam. |

Jasleen Kaur Sethi | Producer/Director/Journalist | ||||
Jasleen is an award winning Producer/Director and Journalist. She has made observational and investigative documentaries for broadcasters around the world including single hours and feature length films for the BBC, Channel 4, and Al Jazeera. She began her career working as a correspondent in Africa and South Asia for 5 years, reporting on politics, conflict, natural disasters, bizarre wildlife, extraordinary events and people. After graduating from UCA in 2000 Gavin got a job in the TV industry. After making tea for a year he began working as an editor and has been getting paid to edit ever since. He’s cut every kind of show from serious documentaries to comedies and has worked for all the major UK terrestrial and satellite channels. |

Theo trained as an actor at the Oxford School of Drama, graduating in 2005. Until 2012 he worked extensively in UK theatre, appearing in acclaimed productions such as War and Peace (Shared Experience) and as the lead in a self-produced Caligula by Albert Camus (Critic’s Choice, Timeout London). Previous Film and TV work includes: Night at the Museum 3 (Warner Bros), Supernatural (CW Network), Psych (USA Network), Doctors (BBC), as well as numerous independent film projects. Jennifer Sheridan | Filmmaker, Editor and Lift-Off Alumni | ||||
Jennifer Sheridan is an award winning director and editor from South London. Jennifer honed her skills as a storyteller by becoming a respected editor of comedy in television and film. Working for many major channels, she has edited award winning and BAFTA nominated series’ for ITV and SKY; as well as feature film One Night In Powder which took home Best Comedy at the London Independent Film Festival 2014. The Virgin Media shorts prize for Rocket in 2012 was the first directing award in her rapidly ratcheting collection. Teaming up with director Matthew Markham, Jennifer followed up with shorts Catch and Match which both went onto win multiple festival awards. Her most recent short Acoustic Kitty premiered at the Oscar qualifying Heartland Film Festival and has just won the People’s Choice Award at the BAFTA qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival. Jennifer is currently developing a feature film script with Adam Shakinovsky and Bru Productions while Acoustic Kitty continues its festival run. |
Marcus Liversedge | Filmmaker, TV Director and Lift-Off Alumni | ||||
Commercial/Comedy/Drama Director with 12 years experience. Marcus is an award winning director who has directed in TV and commercials for twelve years. The last two years working predominantly in drama and comedy. He directed the films that will be a major part of ‘Adele at the BBC’ on BBC1 (20th Nov 2015), and is also the director of the BBC America comedy ‘Almost Royal’ series 1 and 2. His first short film starring Joel Fry (Game of Thrones) and Sadie Frost, was accepted into the LA Lift-Off Film Festival 2015. Hamish Pritchard | Acting and Voice Coach | ||||
Hamish is a respected international acting and voice coach who has taught within world renowned drama conservatoires, including the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (RCSSD) London, The National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), Australia, and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, London. Hamish has trained in various techniques such as the ‘Method’ at the Actors Studio and the Meisner Technique, as well as a number of other prominent acting styles including Stanislavski, Michael Chekhov, Stella Adler and Uta Hagen. Hamish has a Masters in Voice from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and has studied with various recognised voice and speech practitioners. He has also directed several plays and short films. |
Sheridan Thomas | Producer and Lift-Off/Great Guns Partnership Talent Scout | ||||
Having worked in music videos for several years, Sheridan moved into the world of commercials in the mid 90’s. Since then, as Global Head of Production for the multi-national Great Guns, he has produced commercials for many of the world’s biggest brands as well as several short films and music videos. He also produced the SEGA videogame Headhunter: Redemption as well as all the live action footage for its predecessor Headhunter. Each year Great Guns review the filmmakers from the Lift-Off Film Festival Network with a look to employing the best commercial directors from the circuit. |
Jade Courtney Edwards | Director/Writer and Lift-Off Alumni | ||||
Jade Courtney Edwards is a writer and director based in Brooklyn, NY. She went to Tisch School of the Arts in New York where she earned her BFA in Film and TV Production. She is co-partner of creative house, LANDED, where she has several music videos, shorts and features in development. She currently works as a creative executive at production company, Pandemic Film. |
