Bootlicker

Synopsis: "Bootlicker," a 27-minute long narrative comedy about a narcissistic party-loving college student working on a project for a film production class while trying to articulate his artistic philosophy to anyone who will listen (including some who would rather not). The student, performed by Jesse himself, gets inspired by a TikTok video critiquing the environmental impact of farms, which leads the character to create a naive avant-garde doc-essay exposé of a local flower farm. In spite of the character's outsized confidence in his own brilliance, his film gets harshly critiqued by his classmates, who see through its flimsy premise and pretentious tone.

16th Annual Lift-Off Season Awards
The Lift-Off Season Awards is an annual event that celebrates the very best of indie film. Following each Lift-Off film festival, films that have excelled in their respective category are short listed for a Season Awards Nomination. At the end of the year, once all the 12 city-based festival have taken place, the shortlisted nominated films are reviewed again by the jury and Official Nominations are designated.
