A film by Alexandra Boyd
How Widow's Walk came to Lift-Off
The Lift-Off team first saw Alexandra Boyd's Widow's Walk after Alexandra had applied for Lift-Off Representation at TIFF 2019. Upon receiving strong praise from various Lift-Off judges, we decided that we would love to represent Alexandra's feature at TIFF.
About the project
Widow's Walk is the debut feature of actress turned screenwriter, director and producer Alexandra Boyd. It was suggested to her she make a small, genre film as her first. Widow's Walk is set in one location on the Suffolk Coast, has six characters and is a supernatural thriller that fits neatly into the horror genre with a few good scares to jump you out of your seat. The film was funded with private equity – taking advantage of the SEIS tax break and a successful crowdfunding campaign which paid for the exciting underwater sequence at the end of the film. The film is produced by Alexandra and her New Thirty partners Dan Milne and Mike Myshko. Myshko also edited the film and did the colour and extensive VFX. The film has already sold VOD/streaming in the UK/EU and still has Freeview and ROW available to sell. The company is looking to connect with sales and distribution companies who specialise in bringing small independent films to a wider audience.
