While the other fighter, Kanu ‘Redman’ Abel, is simultaneously dealing with his ill aunt who has been diagnosed with a potentially fatal disease. The film encompasses each of these boxers as they fight their way through the obstacles and tests of their own environment.

Treacle
Dir. Rosie Westhoff
USA/UK | 18 mins
Logline:  TREACLE is the story of two friends, BELLE, and JESSIE, who go on a weekend away to help Jessie get over a recent breakup. Road tripping through California, we follow them over the course of 24 hours as Belle convinces Jessie to not cancel the trip she’d originally planned to go on with her ex. Lines begin to blur between them when the always heterosexual Jessie in her drunken, post breakup loneliness kisses bisexual Belle. TREACLE aims to give a voice to the ‘B’ in ‘LGBT’.”

After being rejected from every other job, Ethan ends up writing fake news for a pro-Trump conservative website. He then finds out that his roommate, Nick, an extremist liberal, works for a group called ‘Doxxer’s Anonymous’ which hacks and exposes fake news writers.

6.

The Holy Donut Racket
Dir. Ian Conover

7.

A Boy a Man and a Kite
Dir. Adam Matalon
USA | 20 mins
Logline: A dying man contemplates his younger self as he floats in the blackness of a coma, coming to terms with the sexual abuse he suffered as a child. The boy’s parents seem oblivious as he struggles with his guilt and shame at a new school where he feels left out until his housemaster makes a move.

The film explores themes of love, child sexual abuse and redemption in an abstract evocative telling of a story based on a real court case. At a time when voices deserve to be heard, this long hidden true story comes to light.

After each film there will be a minute-long break, during which we invite the audience to complete scorecards. The cards go towards the scoring of the films and are sent directly to the filmmakers to provide insight into the audience's response.
